Speaking of Christmas, I wrapped up teaching about Xmas to all the Higashi-Shougakko kids today. In one of the 5th grade classes, I held up a picture of a snowflake and asked, " 何ですこれ英語で？" ("Nan desu kore eigo de?," "What is this in English?"). After a brief silence, one brave kid screamed, "SNOWFUCK!" I managed to keep it together then. But I haven't been able to since.
