We're gonna start out in Cairo; then take the train to Alexandria; then train down to Aswan; then cruise on the Nile to Luxor; then train back to Cairo. Should be great. Our more detailed itinerary is:
10 January: Arrive in Cairo.
11 January: Visit the Egyptian Museum; Lunch at Cairo Tower; Al-Azhar Mosque; An-Nasir Mohammed Mosque; Islamic Citadel; The "Hanging Church"; Ibn Tulun.
12 January: Visit the Pyramids at Giza and the Sphinx.
13 January: Visit Khan el-Khalili Bazaar; Pharaonic village; Coptic Museum; Abdeen Palace.
14 January: Turbo Train from Cairo to Alexandria (2hrs10mins).
15 January: Roman Catacombs (Kom-el-Shuqqafa); Pompey's Pillar; Roman Theater; Montaza Palace.
16 January: Alexandria National Museum; Graeco-Roman Museum; Greek Orthodox Church of Alexandria.
17 January: Scuba dive on Alexandria (?).
18 January:Turbo train to Cairo. 20:00 Deluxe sleeper train from Cairo to Aswan (brief stop at Luxor).
19 January: Arrive Aswan 8:15. Board Nile Cruise to Luxor.
12:00 p.m. - Embarkation
2:30 p.m. - Visit the High Dam and the Philae Temple
